  • I’m thoroughly enjoying my work at the library as an instructional designer. Each day the course I’m working on gets in better shape and it’s almost finished.
  • I’ve seen a couple jobs for down the road that I’ve applied to and they seem like good moves – more on that should things move ahead. You just never know.
  • I connected a friend to a job that’s increased his income by y $20,000. (Yeah, I do wish I could do the same for myself.)
  • Over the weekend, I got to meet up with two friends I rarely see.
  • We’ve had what I consider perfect weather for the summer sun and temps in the 70s F.
  • Six of the 12 kids trapped in the cave in Thailand have been rescued!

So for all of you who would like to play along and stick to the rules, here they are:

It’s easy:

Mention something that you consider being good in the comments.

• Or write a post about it on your blog (please don’t forget the pingback if you do so I don’t miss out and also share the link to it in the comments below). Something good that happened to you recently, or something good you will experience in a little while, or something good you know will happen soon. Something that makes you feel good.

  • Yesterday I attended my brother Bill’s retirement party after 32 years of service in the Army Reserves. I knew of his dedication and courage in his deployments – 2 to Iraq and 1 to Bahrain. I knew he earned a Bronze Star and when not deployed he was dedicated to providing the utmost service to his duties for the Reserves both here and overseas in Thailand and Australia.

But attending the party and meeting his fellow Reservist Mark and seeing his son who’s now in the Army emcee a ceremony to honor Lt. Col. William Kelly, deepened my respect for Bill. There’s so much our military does in quiet service that we’re unaware of.

What’s more it was great how everyone honored and Bill thanked my sister-in-law, their kids and all the friends and family supported them. We need more self-less heroes like. Bill from these parts. The military has very few people who live in this area in its ranks.

  • The Paul McCartney Carpool Karaoke is about the cheeriest thing I’ve seen. It’s sure to bring a smile to one’s face.
  • We have gorgeous weather now. Not too hot, not humid.
  • Our neighbor has resumed the Monday evening, Bring Your Own Drink and some appetizer tradition. Last week we got rained on, but tonight we gathered to chat and the weather was just right.
  • I’m reading a good book called When by Dan Pink. It’s a self-help book that uses research to help you understand how to  plan your day for optimal results.

  • I got a surprise call from my friend Jennifer. She lives a few states down and over and we don’t get to talk as much as I’d like.
  • It’s been rather rainy, but the grey skies haven’t made me gloomy. They add atmosphere that heightens the fun of reading. I guess that’s hygge in action.
  • I’m making headway with The Wings of the Dove. Though the prose seems denser than most books I choose, I haven’t given up! A friend suggested we read and discuss it so I’m plugging along.
