Binging Heroes

Since we’re quarantined a lot of us will be watching more films and TV shows. I’m thinking that comedies would be good, but films with strong heroes would be better.

Can you help me brainstorm some?

Off the top of my head I thought of the following:

  • To Kill a Mockingbird
  • Army of Shadows
  • Schindler’s List
  • Life is Beautiful
  • Red Beard
  • Entertaining Angels
  • Les Misérables
  • Gandhi
  • Anything with Charlton Heston
  • Victoria
  • Call the Midwife
  • The Crown
  • A Man for All Seasons
  • Victoria

What films would you suggest?

Poem of the Week

A Time to Talk

by Robert Frost

When a friend calls to me from the road
And slows his horse to a meaning walk,
I don’t stand still and look around
On all the hills I haven’t hoed,
And shout from where I am, ‘What is it?’
No, not as there is a time to talk.
I thrust my hoe in the mellow ground,
Blade-end up and five feet tall,
And plod: I go up to the stone wall
For a friendly visit.
