I woke up early to see this film. I got 16 for the ewaitlist at Sundance Film Festival, which usually gets you in. Plus I hoped to get in with my Volunteer credential, but that line was full.
The film was shown earlier in the week at Eccles Theatre where I’m volunteering, so I saw the end of it as it started before my shift began. The end was powerful so I really wanted to see the beginning.
After waking in the cold everyone in the ewaitlist line learned that we were out of luck. Zannen (that’s regrettable in Japanese).
Nothing else was on offer that I wanted to see so I got the bus to Starbucks on Park Avenue to console myself with a latte and a scone.
