Sepia Saturday 480 Header - Three Men In Bathing Suits (27 July 2019)

Who else thinks these suits are better than a Speedo?

Inspired by this week’s prompt, I’ve scoured Flickr Commons for bathing suits of bygone days. Here’s what I found.

  1. the old swim suits are really interesting – i like the three men opening shot and the florida memory – and had no idea men’s suits looked like this

  2. It’s interesting that in beach photos of olden times no one ever seems to have a wet suit much less even damp hair! Perhaps everyone only waded up to their knees.

  3. Great post! Quite a change in both men’s and women’s swimwear between 1910 and 1935. I guess everyone was fed up with bathing in huge piles of cloth that must have inhibited swimming.
