Sepia Saturday 455 : 2 February 2019

This week’s prompt inspired me to find some photos with straw hats. Here’s what I saw on Flickr Commons.

  1. Great hats! I especially like the one in the 1909 portrait. What a beautiful woman. Of course the radio hat was a kick! 🙂

    • Hats were once so creative. I suppose they still are, but aside from practical winter hats the average person just doesn’t wear them. What a pity.

  2. I love that radio hat!

I once designed a book jacket that had a woman wearing a hat with a dead stuffed bird on top. An awful thought. Glad this is not something that has come back into fashion. When I saw the woman in the last shot I immediately thought, “Put a bird on that!”
