Weekend Coffee Share is a time for us to take a break out of our lives and enjoy some time catching up with friends (old and new)!
Grab a cup of coffee and share with us! What’s been going on in your life? What are your weekend plans? Is there a topic you’ve just been ruminating on that you want to talk about?
If we were having coffee, I’d first say that I was shocked to learn that there was a murder on the street where I grew up. On Sunday the news reported a murder in my former hometown. A respected lawyer had been shot by a family member. I never dreamed it would be on the same block I grew up on. The whole suburb tends to be sleepy in term s of crime. A friend who still lives on the street says that the victim says he was a very kind and reserved man. The shooter tried to kill his wife as well but she was able to run away and hide.
I’d also tell you that I’m taking a Lynda.com course on digital painting with PhotoShop. Wow! It’s amazing what you can make. I didn’t realize you could just paint and not use a photo in PhotoShop.
I wanted to take a economics course at a community college since I’d really like to know more about how our world works in terms of money. Obviously, I should not have waited. All the sections are full. Lesson learned. I did register for Global Business, which should be worthwhile, but it doesn’t start till October 1.
Thursday I went with my mother to a friend of her’s 80th birthday party. My former grade school classmate gave the party and invited mainly mothers & daughters. It was a fun way to go and I got to see a few schoolmates I hadn’t seen in years.
Finally, I learned a few new Mac Tips, which I love doing. Snazzy Labs put out a new video and now I’m testing out talking to my computer’s Siri like it’s my new butler.
