Victor Bracq via Photographischer Zeitvertreib (1903), From Mental Floss

This super example of rick photography was featured in a Mental Floss article called “7 Photographic Tricks, Hoaxes, and Fads Before Photoshop.”

  1. Terrific examples of early photography humor. I wonder if gag photos like these were produced for a special market like for fraternal society conventions or the tourist trade at amusement parks.
