    We know the history of one family, but the others are more or less a mystery. We can guess a little about the farming family. Also about the women dressed in black. Our fantasy and knowledge about the time and area they lived may give us some clues.

    Knowing the history of the first featured family, I would assume the farming family & the three women with that adorable cherub fared far better than Nicholas & Alexandria & their offspring. Theirs was a most unfortunate story all round.
