Vacation Begins!

In China work comes to a halt, pollution decreases, and people flood into train stations and the roadways, as a week of holiday begins. Today is actually a new holiday, Martyrs Day, a day to remember the people who died when Japan invaded. Tomorrow is National Day, commemorating the birth of the People’s Republic of China.

Thursday I’m off to Wuhan in central China to visit a friend and explore a new city.

School resumes October 8th, but we had to work on Sunday, which felt very wrong, and on Saturday the 11th.
