Today’s prompt is this fine gentleman on skis and aren’t winter sports fun to view. (Some folks like to expose themselves to the cold, but I’m not one of them.)
I found some delightful photos on Flickr Commons. Here are a few:
They look like they could play cricket or tennis in these white uniforms.
Skijoring is a centuries’ old sport of horses pulling skiers behind them. I wonder if this could make it into the Olympics.
There are dozens of good photos you can view if you visit Sepia Saturday. I’ve enjoyed several, but many folks are on Blogspot and I can’t be bothered to set up an account to comment. Suffice it to say, they’re wonderful.

wow – that skijoring looks rather dangerous. I wouldn’t want to be in such close quarters with all those horses & skiers going lickity-split down the course and fall down!

I think you’d have to be a daredevil to do skijoring.

I was just out walking the dog today. It finally got above freezing! Yay! But the wind was blowing so hard that it was blowing snow drifts across the road and I thought to myself, “this is why I don’t do winter sports.”

I applaud you for walking your dog in this weather. I realize it’s not a choice exactly, but it sure shows character.

You are right about the hockey team, they look as though they couldn’t make up their mind which sport to play:-) Wow how did they think up skijoring, looks fun but not for the accident prone.

Perhaps the hockey team just wanted to get extra mileage out of their tennis whites. You’d have to be crazy and have nerves of steel to skijor.

The ski jumper looks suspended by wires rather than flying like the modern athletes. I had to look up more videos of skijoring and it looks like a great sport. There appears to be a version with dogs and I can see that being super exciting Olympic sport too.

I’d watch it in the Olympics though. Winter sports do tend to be so much more daring, death defying even.
