Please, Sir, Can I have a Class List?

I really didn’t think I was asking for the moon, when I asked A. for a class list yesterday. She told me I could make one myself. I could just have the students write their names on a paper.

Yeah, I knew I could do that, but it really isn’t official. I showed her an old list I had with kids’ names, student numbers, etc. and explained that it’s usual to get these lists for attendance records and grades. She really looked perplexed.

Oh, dear.
